Hello all our dear overseas friends
We have now been back in UK for about 7 weeks and the time
has shot by. Life is definitely more
hectic here than in South Africa but sufficiently different that comparisons
are not really appropriate.

We have just come back from a three day conference in Hull
up in the north east of Britain. Hull
used to be a very important port and trading centre but, as with many other
places, post war it declined and when we last went there 6 years ago, it was a
very rundown place. Now, as in quite few British towns and cities, a lot of
money (probably from Europe) seems to have been spent on urban regeneration and
it has improved no end with a lot of pedestrianisation of the city centre and
much more made of the many imposing Victorian buildings.
The Days of Wonder conference we went to was hosted by
Jarrod Cooper, who was greatly impacted by God as a younger man on a visit to
South Africa. He used to be a worship leader but now is senior pastor of a
rapidly growing church in one of poorer areas of Hull. Despite all the
improvements, Hull is still a poor city by UK standards with many needy people.
The main speaker at the conference was Nathan Morris, who is
British but based in America. He is a
powerfully anointed young man of God who moves in signs, wonders and
miracles. His style is very reminiscent
of a Benny Hinn crusade with lots going on, words of knowledge, people being
prayed for, everybody on the floor, lots of testimonies of healings and
miracles – so very exciting!! The worship for the first two days was Gospel
style and everyone was so passionate and the atmosphere electric.

| Healing on the streets |
However, my two best speakers were Jonathan Conrathe who
again is British but goes all over the world as an evangelist with signs and wonders
following. He had amazing story after
amazing story to tell us and I loved his teaching. Even so, on a purely personal basis the best
session for me was by Jarrod Cooper. It was pastoral, anointed, amusing and yet
ministered deeply into my heart.
At lunchtime, conference delegates went out onto the streets
and ministered to the people of Hull. There is a big square outside the Hull
City Hall where the conference was held and they had an open air meeting with
people being prayed for. One lady came
to the city centre with her walker, God healed her and she left her walker
behind and went home! People with sight
problems were healed and many other were prayed for.
So a very good time, even if it was very loud in the conference!!!

| Isabel and Samuel |
We have spent some good times with the family, visiting
stately homes and yesterday we celebrated Jonathan’s 25th birthday
and Father’s Day with a barbecue. All
good fun, lots of food and so nice to catch up and have a really good conversation
with everyone. We see a lot more of Sarah, Samuel and Keira as they are just
round the corner. Samuel chatters away now and I am single-handedly trying to
teach him some table manners, totally unsupported by his parents!
Keira is normally a very happy baby but seems
to have episodes of getting ‘all caught up’. She screams and screams, goes blue
and then burps and it all passes. She
has had it checked out at the hospital and they have found nothing of concern.
However we are praying for her complete healing from this.

We have been playing far too much bowls, some golf and
Christopher has joined the Kodak Golf Association and we have become involved
in STARS (Seniors Taking Active Retirement Seriously) at church and led a walk round
one of the local villages.
So busy but enjoyable.
Do let us know how you are all getting on.
Love Christine and Christopher
